Harare, Zimbabwe, Capital Markets in Africa — The Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) industrial index began the week lower at 134.08 points after falling by 0.03 points or 0.02 percent down from 134.11 points recorded at the end of last week session. The ZSE Industrial index went down by 17.63 percent on a year-to-date basis.
The market capitalization ended at US$3.507 billion after losing US$ 1 million relative to previous market capitalization of US$3.508 billion.
The market activity today recorded a turnover of US$368,186 exchanged in 16 traded securities via 36 trade transactions. Foreign investor buys totalled US$90,645 and foreign sales were US$170,127 today. Among the 16 traded securities, CBZ Holdings Limited recorded at US$98,335 exchanged in 1,097,491 traded securities and OK Zimbabwe Limited recorded US$49,168 exchanged in 702,395 traded stocks. Equally, NicozDiamond Insurance Limited recorded 237,623 shares valued at US$3,564, Delta Corporation Limited recorded 150,693 shares with a total value of US$130,252, Pro Plastics Limited had 119,000 shares with a value of US$3,094.
From the market activities strength view, there were three price gainers, three price losers and eleven prices that remained unchanged, hence market strength ended negative. The price gainers were NicozDiamond Insurance Limited ended at US$0.0150 after adding 7.14 percent or U$0.0010, Nampak Zimbabwe Limited closed at US$0.0208 after gaining 0.97 percent or US$ 0.002 and Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Limited ended at US$0.00270 after adding 0.11 percent and US$0.003.
On the contrary, CBZ Holdings Limited sagged by 0.44 percent or US$0.003 to close at US$0.00896, Innscor Africa Limited went down by 0.422 percent or US$0.0025 to end at US$0.005875 and Old Mutual Plc closed at US$0.25486 after losing 0.05 percent or US$0.0013.
The Mining index stayed unchanged to close at 29.10 points today. Bindura Nickel Corporation Limited traded at US$0.0200, Hwange Colliery Company Limited and RioZim Limited maintained previous price levels at US$0.0340 and US$0.1200 respectively. Falcon Gold Limited also remained steady at US$0.0050.
